What a Wonderful World Lyrics,
Louis Armstrong Lyrics Will Make You Happy.

Remember the What a Wonderful World lyrics? The popular Louis Armstrong lyrics are happy song lyrics.

They tell you a story. His story.

Watch the video and observe--he can't stop smiling.

In my brief Louis Armstrong biography, you'll get a glimpse of just how wonderful his life turned out to be.

And don't forget to pay attention to the Louis Armstrong lyrics.

Why not sing along? The What a Wonderful World lyrics are written out for you below.

Louis Armstrong, nicknamed Satchmo, for Satchelmouth, and later on Pops, was an American singer, cornet and trumpet player.

He was a giant. A charismatic performer. As a soloist, band leader and vocalist, he injected his own style and unique tone into his music.

As a virtuoso trumpet player, he had an extraordinary talent for musical improvisation. He is also credited with creating the role of the jazz soloist.

And as a singer, he is recognized as one of the pioneers of scat singing. His distinct gravelly voice, full of warmth and charm, is a voice you can't help but remember.

However, given his bad start in life, you never would have thought that he would turn out this way.

Louis Armstrong, was born on August 4, 1901 to a very poor family in New Orleans. A grandson of slaves, he spent his youth in poverty. His father ran off with another woman. While his mother, forced into prostitution to earn a living, left Armstrong and his sister in the care of their grandmother.

Starting a musical career wasn't also easy. Louis Armstrong labored by day while he played the cornet at night.

In spite of his hardships, he did not regard his early years as a terrible time. Instead he drew strength and inspiration from it.

And as fate would have it, sheer talent and good luck would eventually turn his life around.

And it's just how the happy song lyrics go.

Here are the What a Wonderful World lyrics.

WHAT A WONDERFUL WORLD LYRICS
By Louis Armstrong

I see trees of green, red roses too
I see them bloom for me and you
And I think to myself what a wonderful world.

I see skies of blue and clouds of white
The bright blessed day, the dark sacred night
And I think to myself what a wonderful world.

The colors of the rainbow so pretty in the sky
Are also on the faces of people going by
I see friends shaking hands saying how do you do
They're really saying I love you.

I hear babies crying, I watch them grow
They'll learn much more than I'll never know
And I think to myself what a wonderful world
Yes, I think to myself what a wonderful world.

--Instrumental Break--

The colors of the rainbow so pretty in the sky
Are also on the faces of people going by
I see friends shaking hands saying how do you do
They're really saying I love you.

I hear babies crying, I watch them grow
They'll learn much more than I'll never know
And I think to myself what a wonderful world
Yes, I think to myself what a wonderful world.

Written by Bob Thiele (as George Douglas) and George David Weiss, the song was recorded by Armstrong in 1968.

And according to a Louis Armstrong biography, the What a Wonderful World lyrics were intended to be a message of hope. In the midst of the increasingly racially tense atmosphere of the time, the Louis Armstrong lyrics were meant to inspire.

Ironically, the song wasn't immediately a hit, selling less than 1,000 copies in the US. Instead, it found an audience in the UK, reaching no. 1 in the UK singles charts.

As we know, the song gradually caught on. It has since become a standard, spawning many versions. Today, four decades after his death, it is as popular as ever.

In his wonderful lifetime, Louis Armstrong has recorded many albums. He toured Africa, Europe and Asia as a musical ambassador. Had numerous hits. Won awards, including the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award.

But aside from being a musician, Armstrong supported the civil rights movement. He was a major financial supporter of Martin Luther King Jr. as well as other activists.

Armstrong had an airport named after him: The Louis Armstrong International Airport in New Orleans.

The US Open Tennis tournament's former stadium was named the Louis Armstrong Stadium.

He appeared in films, television and radio. He has a record star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

He was the first jazz musician ever to appear on the cover of Time Magazine in February 1949. And today, there are many bands dedicated to preserving and honoring his music.

Louis Armstrong, a musician to the end, kept a busy schedule up to the few years before his death. He died on July 6, 1971, after a heart attack, just before his 70th birthday.

Today, he is revered as one of the most important American musicians of the 20th century. And his influence on the development of jazz music is said to be immeasurable.

Not bad, heh? No wonder he had a reason to smile.

What a Wonderful World lyrics were right.

How wonderful his life turned out to be.
