1. Inspirational Funnies

Funny thoughts and funny drawings just for you. Take a look at this...

Who says inspirational pictures can't also be funny?

2. Inspirational Tip

You get back what you give.

Where do you go when you're looking for inspiration?

I'll tell you what I do.

I go to the bookstore or library and pick up a good book. It could be something on self-development. A biography of someone I admire. Or even just a plain, honest-to-goodness thriller. You know the one--where the good guys always win.

I also love watching movies. And sometimes a nice glass of wine or piece of cake does the trick. I am an expert in comfort foods.

But recently, I came across a story of an amazing woman. For years, her life had been marred by a disabling illness. Confined to a wheelchair, she was miserable. She couldn't help but ask, "Why me?"

Because of her illness, she expected others to be kind to her. To help her. To ease her pain. It was just me, me, me.

Until she met the Dalai Lama. Except instead of receiving comfort which she felt she deserved, she received a completely unexpected answer.

What did he tell her to do that surprised her? He told her that she should stop thinking of herself and start helping others.

She was probably annoyed. I know I would be. But the next thing that came to her mind was: "How?"

Really, how could an invalid such as her help anyone?

Well, to make the story short, she started off in little ways. Calling a stranger to tell them that they were appreciated. Giving a stranded lady money for a tank of gas. Some days, all she could do was smile. But the more she gave, the more she found ways to give.

And soon, she forgot that she was ill and miserable.

Instead, she discovered that she was happy. And the strange thing was, physically, she never felt better.

I recall her words so well, and I hope that they will be an inspiration for you, too. They're so simple to remember.

"You get what you give."

Isn't that the truth?

I think so!

Positive news stories: It's Not Over Until You Win

Speaking of cake earlier, I came across a yummy bit of news, which I have to share with you.

For those of you affected by the recession, this is a story about a farmer's wife who turned their floundering farm's fortunes around by baking cakes.

Simple? I'd say it was a piece of cake!

Click on this link to read the uplifting tale.

Take it from the cake lady, it really isn't over until you win. Why not check out Les Brown's program? It's incredibly powerful.

Project Pantyhose

This is a hoot! Really it is.

If you've been appalled by the enviromental disaster that is the result of the BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, then take heart. Maybe there is something you can do--with pantyhose!

How is Hooters, an American restaurant chain, famous for its sexy waitresses, doing it's bit for the environment? Click on this link for the full story on Project Pantyhose.

So if you use pantyhose, don't throw them away. Join in the effort. Donate your pantyhose.

But if you're a man, don't worry. You can grab your wife's, girlfriend's or mother's. I'm sure she'll understand. Who knows? She might even find it funny.
